Only the strongest will can lurk evil and into the heart of darkness without succumbing to his temptations. Maiev Shadowsong knows that better than anyone.
Before the War of the Ancients, Maiev Shadowsong was an elderly priestess of the night elves, a milestone for someone who was not of noble blood. The wildness and chaos of the invasion of the Burning Legion affected her deeply, and became convinced that the only answer to imminent threats is to act swiftly and decisively. He enraged when Illidan the Betrayer was spared to put him away forever instead of killing him, but offered to be his jailer until the end of his days. He recruited other priestesses to help her, and that's how Vigías, an order of evil swore to protect society from the night elves were formed.
After Illidan fled his mountain prison, the warden Shadowsong left in search. Many of his Vigías fell in the process, but she never wavered. His faith in the order and justice helped in his worst moments, including his capture Illidan and the day the Traitor died.
His strong sense of duty is indisputable. For her, whether to fight evil, the end justifies the means. This has led her to cope even with the upper echelons of society. Despite these tensions, Maiev remains committed to protect the world and its inhabitants. Spends much time protecting the House Keepers, an ancient prison containing the body of Illidan and some of his servants hunters scariest demons.
