The years of anxiety and personal misfortunes have not been able to Genn Greymane, but have become a fierce warrior, an astute leader and a loyal ally.
After Genn Greymane became the King of Gilneas, he established the doctrine of isolationism. He refused to join the Alliance, and even built the colossal Greymane Wall to isolate his nation from the rest of the world. Displaying an exacerbated pride, he believed that Gilneas could control any threat without the help of outsiders.
Everything changed when a horrifying curse struck his nation. Grief turned many Gilneans (including Greymane) in wolfish bloodthirsty beasts known as "worgen". The curse continued to spread, and that was when Sylvanas Windrunner and her Forsaken undead overran the weakened kingdom of Greymane. A large number of brave Gilneans lost their lives defending their nation ... among which even features the King's son, Prince Liam. Adversity was primed with Greymane and his people to the point of having to flee their homes and seek refuge in the Alliance.
A lower king would have crumbled under the circumstances ... but Greymane held. In the years after the fall of Gilneas, he became one of the staunchest supporters of the Alliance. He also learned to control the worgen curse of his blood and to use it as a weapon. Although dreams of recovering Greymane Gilneas, first will focus on achieving peace for the Alliance. He and his people are prepared to fight tooth and nail against any threat to the Alliance, either the Burning Legion or Sylvanas and her Forsaken.
