Illidan was known as "the Traitor" for his reckless pursuit of power, but only did so with one goal in mind: to destroy the Burning Legion.
During the War of the Ancients, Illidan began his long struggle against the Burning Legion. It was one of many night elves who fought the demons, but their methods did highlight extremists. Illidan fervent determination led him to abandon his allies and forge a pact with the Legion. Though he did to gain power and know the weaknesses of demons, his family would always like a traitor. After defeating the Legion, the night elf Illidan locked into a mountain to prevent damnificara a world ravaged by war.
More than 10 000 years later, Illidan was released. Instead of redeeming himself for his questionable strategy, he accepted the vile magic and became a demon; It was a necessary evil to destroy the Legion. Later, he addressed the fragmented realm of Outland and formed an army in his image and likeness: Illidari demon hunters. With these soldiers imbued fel energy, the Traitor was ready to end the threat of the Legion once and for all. However, before doing so, Illidan fell to the heroes of the Horde and the Alliance. They carried his body to Azeroth and laid in the House of the Keepers.
Despite the defeat of Illidan, his legacy lives on through his demon hunters. Some of these mysterious warriors are locked with the body of his master in the House Keepers, but many others are on the loose, missing. It is feared that even now these demon hunters continue the war against the Legion Illidan ... at any price.
