Horde

Orc
fiercest conquerors
Unlike the other races of the Horde, orcs are not native to Azeroth. Originally, they lived as shamanic clans on the lush world of Draenor. They put aside their peaceful culture when Kil'jaeden, a demon lord of the Burning Legion, the corrupted and used them to avenge the draenei, exiles from Kil'jaeden's homeworld.

History of the orcs

Kil'jaeden's plan worked. The orcs drank the blood of Mannoroth, a major general of the Burning Legion, which imbibed power and enslaved the Legion. Exposure to fel energies turned the natural brown color of their skin in a pale green. Under the influence of the devil, orcs almost exterminated the draenei, but Kil'jaeden went beyond ...

With the orcs at their disposal, the Burning Legion invade Azeroth planned again. To do so, the corrupted human archmage Medivh hatched a conspiracy with the orc warlock Gul'dan to construct the Dark Portal, a huge structure that would allow the orcs into Azeroth.

Upon reaching Azeroth, the troops orcas unstoppable Horde razed Stormwind human kingdom. However, human resisted and were able to defeat the Horde and enslave most of the survivors, but a slave boy named Thrall, supported by the Warchief Orgrim Doomhammer, fought to free the captive orcs. Orgrim died in combat, and Thrall inherited the post of Chief of War and Doomhammer, Orgrim's weapon. Thrall led his people to Kalimdor, where his friend and mentor, Grom Hellscream sacrificed to defeat Mannoroth and freeing the orcs forever the yoke of the Legion.

Years later, Thrall returned to Draenor, now known as Outland, to stop once again to the Legion. There, he convinced Garrosh, son of Grom Hellscream, to join the Horde. Thrall Garrosh saw a worthy his successor, but the uncontrollable aggressiveness and impulsive young Hellscream led him to commit heinous acts against the Horde itself. Thrall was forced to depose appoint Garrosh and Vol'jin, the control head of the Darkspear tribe, new Warchief of the Horde. With the vivid memory of the betrayal of Garrosh in the minds of the other races of the Horde, Thrall and the orcs must again demonstrate that they have left behind their old destructive impulses.

The arid, harsh land of Durotar is home to some of the toughest creatures on Azeroth. Unsuspecting travelers may be victims of poisonous scorpids, fierce or angry crocolisks quilboar. Thrall decided to settle in this inhospitable area after the Third War as penance for past transgressions of orcs. He named the land with the name of his father, Durotan, former Warchief Frostwolf Clan. After the cataclysm, many orc settlements were flooded or destroyed and soldiers Northwatch in Tiragarde Keep have become more aggressive than ever. As relations between the Alliance and Horde worse, it is essential that the orcs contain these threats quickly to ensure the survival of its people.

Capital city

Orgrimmar

Named after the former Warchief of the Horde, Orgrim Doomhammer, this capital was rapidly constructed when the orcs first settled in Durotar. Garrosh Hellscream has recently rebuilt most of the architecture of the city and now Orgrimmar's strengths are among the most impressive of Azeroth. Sharp metal towers line the city streets and red and black banners of the Horde wave from every post. Most of the various races have been separated into their own districts, from the tauren in the Valley of Wisdom to the trolls of the Valley of Spirits. Fort Grommash towers rise above all, allowing Garrosh Hellscream closely monitor their people.

Paradigm

Thrall

Thrall followed the dictates of shamanism to reform the Horde, becoming his Warchief and leading his people to settle in a barren land which he called Durotar in honor of his father Durotan. Thrall led the Horde through a seemingly endless series of penalties: the eradication of the curse of the demon blood that had corrupted the orcs, an attack of the Burning Legion in Mount Hyjal and the fall of the fearsome Lich King. When Deathwing returned and devastated the world, Thrall resigned as Warchief of the Horde to join the Earthen Ring, a powerful shamanic group, in an attempt to placate the elements and stop the Destroyer.

racial mount

Wolf

Long ago, the orcs tamed the large and ready wolves of Draenor. These huge dogs became the preferred companions of orcs in addition to their favorite means of transportation. The wolves unshakable temperament makes them especially suitable for fighting big dams. When the orc warriors turned and invaded Azeroth, their wolves were bred for more size and strength so that they could carry riders with their armor into battle. The fearsome wolves remain the favorite mounts orc fighters and can be purchased in the Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar.
